What’s the best way to change money to foreign currency?
Thursday, September 17th, 2009I’m going to India in December and also Amsterdam (only in Amsterdam a few hours). I’ll need to change my money to Rupees and then to Euros. What’s the best way to do that? I know that, for example, it’s about 40 Rupees to a dollar - but if I go through the bank, I’ll only get about 35 Rupees to a dollar. Next year, I’ll be moving over there and will be changing a LARGE amount of money over (about $12,000)…so not sure how to do that and lose the least. I can set up an account here in the US through Wells Fargo that allows me to transfer money cheaply - but still, I guess I won’t get so much. Thanks for your advice.
