I received an email from someone claiming to need me to send them my bank account info. Of course I did not sent them my info but I want to know can something happen simply from me openning the email without clicking on any of the links. I read the first few lines and then deleted it?

I don’t send gifts to adult relatives, but send cards with hand-written notes to “catch up” on things since we don’t see each other often. I NEVER get cards from them, and they are wealthy- so money is not the issue, and it hurts me that they don’t send cards- especially since we don’t exchange gifts. So should I continue to send them cards? They don’t email or call either!
I don’t feel good about updating them when they don’t care enough to respond.
