Any brilliant ideas out there for office gift exchange?

We are having an office Christmas party and gift exchange with a $10 limit. Any ideas for creative wrapping or a memorable gift idea? It’s a very conservative office, but they love creative gifts. Please help!! I really don’t want my gift to be the last, lonely one in the pile again this year.

Are you supposed to send thank you notes when you?

Is it proper to send a thank you note when you only recieved a Christmas card from someone (no money in the card otherwise that would be a definate yes)?

I do not send out Christmas cards myself so it’s not like they would get one from me in return so do I need to send a thank you note for the card and them thinking of me?

When should I exchange my US cash for Canadian?

I will be visiting Manitoba for Christmas 2008. Should I exchange the cash in the US, prior to going to Canada or should I wait until I am in Canada? Should I also use my credit card in Canada or should I stick with Canadian currency when I am in Canada?

Is it ok to send money to nieces and nephews for Christmas?

My sister has a houseful of kids…is it ok to just send them all money instead of trying to shop for them? I was thinking $50 each. Is that enough? Maybe $100 each?

Can you deposit cash into your bank account as a minor?

This is my checking account that I share with my father, since I’m a minor. I was wondering if I could deposit cash (money received from Christmas and other things), without having to drag my father along. I have the deposit slips, and have filled them out. Do I need anything else?
