I am wondering about 401k options, what are the differences in equity accounts and fixed income accounts?

What are the benefits of Flexible Spending Accounts in terms of write offs? Does it include just fed tax?

Lets say I’m in the 28% bracket for fed taxes..

does it also avoid fica, social security, medicare, etc or JUST fed taxes? Please only answer if you are sure.

UK tax on interest in personal current accounts - how does it work?

If your bank is paying you interest gross on your current account does this mean you need to tell HMRC about the interest so they can deduct tax from it?
What if the person doesn’t normally do a tax return because they have always been PAYE and they don’t have any other taxable income? Do they need to complete a tax return just for bank account interest?

Experience with High Interest Online Savings Accounts?

I’m looking for a high interest online savings account. So far it seems like HSBC Direct has the best rate, no fees, no minimums etc. Seems like a good deal. Just looking for general pros and cons for these accounts - whether there are any negative consequences that I should be aware of especially regarding accessing the money in the account. Thanks!
