Do you drive an ‘08 or ‘07 Saturn Outlook or Saturn Aura? (More details - Don’t bother to answer if you don’t)

Don’t bother to answer if you don’t, but I understand if you want to sneak for 2 points.
What model do you drive, XE or XR?
What made you decide to get it?
What other vehicles, if any, were you comparing it to?
Now that you’ve had it for a little, are you happy with the purchase? Why or why not?
If you traded, what did you trade in to get your Saturn?

My wife and I are looking to buy an Outlook and an Aura. I’m reading whatever reviews I can find on the ‘net and just thought I’d post a question here as well. In addition to the questions above (sorry about asking so many), feel free to offer any other opinions, suggestions, or comments you feel will help.

Thanks sincerely for your time!

  1. Confessions of a Yahoo Avatar Says:

*Sigh* I don’t own either, but working for Motor Trend, I test drive them.

I’ve driven the 2007 Saturn Outlook XR. The ride is phenomenal. The Outlook doesn’t aspire to be sporty and thus doesn’t quite fall into the “fun to drive” camp, but it’s not ponderous either; it handles with more confidence than you’d expect from a vehicle weighing more than 4,700 pounds. Ride quality is forgiving without being wallowy. Its 3.6-liter V6s are smooth at almost every rev range and deliver enough power to handle most performance demands with ease.

I drove the 2008 Saturn Aura XE a few days ago:
I’d steer most 2008 Saturn Aura buyers to one of the V6s, as acceleration is sluggish on the four-cylinder model. The 3.5-liter in the XE isn’t as refined as I’d like, but it provides capable response in traffic and above-average fuel economy. Performance is much smoother and swifter with the 3.6-liter, and for the people who aren’t counting every mpg, it’s the more satisfying choice.
But overall, the Aura’s European handling is capable and confident. Minimal body roll and a smooth, hushed highway ride make the Aura a great long-distance companion.

Both cars are good, but I’d go with the Outlook when it comes to refinement and a great, enjoyable ride.

    Also try the GMC Acadia:

    Good Luck.
